College Graduates, that we are.
It should mean something more than the phrase, "What are you doing now?" Everyone says "knowledge is power." Is
it? We know how to write, articulate our opinions, public speak, advertise, draw, paint, and even have been equiped
with the proper education to interview enthusiastically and receive the ultimate goal--a job.
Somehow it is difficult for an intellectual, challenge-driven student to work vivaciously for what businesses call an
"entry level position." The pay is low, but they entice you with the phrase, "there is room for growth." I propose I did my
"growing" in college and I am ready for what the world has to offer me.
What do I do before I full-heartedly thrust myself into a job which I hopefully love each day I wake up? I
will travel. Traveling is the most enlightening, treasured, eye-opening experience, and I don't expect it to diminish as I
venture into the work force. But, I am allowing myself one last adventure before full fledged reality sets in (rent,
bills, work). The idea of a cross country road trip has always been a fantasy of mine--thus inspired shamelessly by
Brittney Spear's teenybopper movie "Crossroads." It was not Brittney that put the notion into my head of it being a glamorous
experience, but a learning experience and a fresh youthful way to see our country and its vastness.
With that I created this website to organize our travels and make it easy for us to plan. Who is in?
